Topic: Keyboard tab navigation to search field of material select is not working. Upon receiving the focus to search textbox, dropdown disappears and leaving inaccessible for a keyboard user
Expected behavior When navigating using keyboard to Material Select component, their should be auto-focus to search text-box (when searchable attribute is provided). Also keyboard user should be able to select the searchable result after searching the required option from search text-box.
Actual behavior Current behavior of material select search box component does not meet accessibility. Upon receiving focus to search box, dropdown disappears and a keyboard user is unable to select the required option through search box. Due to this inaccessibility, keyboard user have to undergo selecting the required option using Up/Down arrows for multi optioned(for ex. 50 to 100 options) select element.

I like that idea. Currently, we don't offer the feature you're looking for, but I've added this to our list of ideas

Hello Bartłomiej Malanowski, I don't think, above issue as a new idea other than a bug in Material Select component, without which, we cannot say the component meets the accessibility. Keyboard users unable to make use of this component, unless they are able to search and select their option. So, kindly consider this as a bug and provide us a solution at the earliest.

It's a really annoying "bug" and should be fixed as fast as possible. Otherwise the material select form is unuseable for keyboard-users. Hope we get that soon!
