pickadate is not a function

$(...).pickadate is not a function at XMLHttpRequest.LoadPage.x.onreadystatechange (ajax.js:27) What I've got here is a .datepicker element on the page (happens to be loaded through ajax).

<input id="txt_birth_date" type="text" placeholder="Birth Date" class="form-control input-md datepicker lnklbl" required="" value=" ">

Once it is loaded through ajax, I'm trying to run $(".datepicker").pickadate(); but I get the error above. I'm using MDB-Pro 4.3.2 Could I get some assistance with this?

I am also using MDB PRO and have this same error on document ready - pickadate is not a function. Was there a resolution to this issue?
