So far I love mdbootstrap Pro version. However, I realized it wasn't that easy to combine and use both mdb-select and "normal bootstrap" <select>I found, in my opinion, a better "live search select" but wasn't able to implement that in my project due to mdbootstrap made them display none and they looked horrible even when I managed to make the visible on screen. I know the code is working because I remove the mdbootstrap plugin and they looked fine.
