Topic: TypeError: ngModuleType.\u0275mod is undefined

When we attempt to add NavbarComponent to the import section of app.module.ts, we are getting this error:

TypeError: ngModuleType.\u0275mod is undefinedcore.js:24496 Angular 2 registerNgModuleType registerNgModuleType forEach self-hosted:235 Angular 4 registerNgModuleType NgModuleFactory compileNgModuleFactory__POST_R3__ bootstrapModule ts main.ts:11 Webpack 6 webpack_require 0 webpack_require checkDeferredModules webpackJsonpCallback

If we comment that one import line out, the error goes away, but the navbar isn't usable then. We have even replaced the HTML with your stock examples and we get the same error. Seen it before?
