Not sure why, but using Chrome Version 55.0.2883.87 m I cannot see or recreate the navbar links as demonstrated here: https://mdbootstrap.com/components/navbar/

Hi Paolo, I understand. To answer your question, I mainly use Chrome but always check with another browser frequently - however, I could not give the exact times of these in relation to site updates. What's confusing is that my dev installation of MDB Pro is running on a Wordpress child theme using a cachebuster which increments the version number of any CSS/JS scripts as soon as they are changed to prevent exactly this kind of problem. All browsers (other than Chrome) were fine during testing and upon discovering the issue, I checked the mdbootstrap.com website where I found the exact same problem. Anyways, thanks for your interest - I will update you if I notice the problem again.

Hi @david.howlett, did you use those browsers at the same time? I mean did you test first on Chrome and then with the others WB (opening your site with them for the first time after have added the navbar's code) or at the same time while developing step by step? Because if you've never opened your project with Firefox, IE, Safari it obviously works (the cache if empty). I hope I explained it well. Regards.

Hi Paolo, I test developments using the four main browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Safari) and only Chrome has exhibited this MDB Navbar caching problem. Strange but no problem if only a one-off, just don't want to release a site that has an inherent CSS/JS caching issue.

@david.howlett Not only Chrome, but all web browsers manage the cache in the same way (this does not mean that browers don't manage the cache properly, simply this is how it works). Regards.

@tom3 Strange is what I thought - I've never known Chrome to not manage its cache properly.

Presumably using incognito mode was suggested as a means of diagnosing the problem rather than solving it. I had the same problem and clearing the cache fixed it. It would be interested to know what the problem was. I would have thought it was rather unusual.

david.howlett sometimes cached versions of a website can cause this issues, for example when the browser does not download a fresh copy, even though the site was updated since last caching it (indeed incognito mode of Chrome does not cache anything). Regards.

Great it's working. How can the cache have stopped the Navbars from working?

paolo.guerra free answered 7 years ago

david.howlett, if in incognito mode it works, the issue could be the cache of the browser, Regards.

Sure, incognito works. But why doesn't it work in normal mode?

Kamil Paciepnik free answered 7 years ago

david.howlett, please use key combination: shift + ctrl + r or open Chrome in incognito mode. Regards

david.howlett pro answered 7 years ago

Use the latest version of Chrome to view this page on your website and it doesn't work: https://mdbootstrap.com/components/navbar/
