Expected behavior Side Menu should Slide in and out

Actual behavior The menu item "Minimize menu" is not reacting although I followed all the instructions on https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/jquery/navigation/compositions/ "Double Navigation with slim SideNav and fixed Navbar "

  $(".button-collapse").sideNav({
      slim: true
  });
