Topic: SCSS Function Inside Mixins Erro

[user@localhost scss]$ sass mdb.scss mdb.css
Error: Functions may not be defined within control directives or other mixins.
 on line 215 of core/_mixins.scss
 from line 35 of mdb.scss
 Use --trace for backtrace.
[user@localhost scss]$ sass -v
Ruby Sass 3.5.6
[user@localhost scss]$ ruby -v
ruby 2.4.3p205 (2017-12-14 revision 61247) [x86_64-linux]
Do I have wrong version of sass/ruby or am missing something here? I would assume this works out of the box. Is there a guide and requirements for compiling using the scss files anywhere?
