Topic: Checkboxes in MDBTable appear very large
Expected behavior Checkboxes that are either the Default size of the size of the Material examples
Actual behavior The checkboxes are very large. I copied your code into my app.

did you put styles to index.js where you render your app?

No I did not. I didn't read the Getting Started thoroughly enough.
I did also discover, though, if the label attribute is blank, the checkbox doesn't appear. So I assigned $nbsp; to the label.
