Topic: Form elements in MDBDropdown?

Lukasz S free asked 3 years ago

Expected behavior

Embedding an input field into a MDBDropdown should allow me to type and handle the change of text. The documentation for MDB 5 React doesn't have an example for that, but it's in the Standard documentation, so I wanted to check if it's just not documented or if it's not supported at all.

Actual behavior

I'm unable to change the value of an MDBInput when it's embedded into an MDBDropdown.

Resources (screenshots, code snippets etc.)

I've created a snippet: https://mdbootstrap.com/snippets/react/susell/3232861

Can you please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong, if there's a way to solve this using a "hack", or is this a feature that's missing and I'll have to wait until it's added to MDB React 5? If so, do you have it in your roadmap?

I might use a button with a modal instead if it's not available just yet, but please confirm.

Thanks, Łukasz

Hi!

Input in the Dropdown should work exactly as you did in the snippet, so that's a bug. We'll try to fix it in one of the nearest releases :)

Keep coding!

Hi Krzysztof,

Thanks a lot for confirming, let me know if you find a workaround, otherwise I'll just use a modal and will look forward to a proper fix in the future.

Pozdrawiam, Łukasz

If we fix it - you'll see it in the changelog here: https://mdbootstrap.com/docs/b5/react/getting-started/changelog/ :)

Keep coding!
