The round avatar is achieved using CSS .rounded-circle class, try
<DropdownToggle nav className="py-0"><img src="https://mdbootstrap.com/img/Photos/Avatars/avatar-2.jpg" style={{height: '35px'}} className="rounded-circle z-depth-0" alt="avatar image"/></DropdownToggle> as your DropDownToggle.
For future reference, we are bringing the library to consistency with the documentation styles, so feel free to just inspect the page with DevTools and grab the classes you like and use them in your project.

Sure it is! Use theAvatar component:

The circle prop there gives it the desired CSS class.
