Topic: Question about Icon dependencies and license requirements
While reading the documentation, GH issues, support questions, I've found myself quite confused about the integration of the icons in MDBS. Would I be correct to say:
- MDBS is designed to use FontAwesome as it's icon font, not bootstrap's icons or the material icon font from google fonts?
- We need to import FontAwesome ourselves, as it's not included or implicitly imported anywhere in the code?
This raises a few questions:
- Does our license with MDBS include a compatible FontAwesome license (the free license has restrictions on use/organization/income)?
- Would ForkAwesome (free and opensource alternative) work as a drop in replacement for the needs of MDBS?
Our package work with Font Awesome 6 We do not include FA in the package so users can choose their method of import depending on project requirements. We work with free version of FA which in free version is free to use with no restriction. ForkAwesome is not good substitute as it is fork of Font Awesome version 5.
