Topic: Sidenav menu item open / close animation

Marvin Herbold priority asked 3 years ago

  1. Create a sidenav in slim mode
  2. Create a parent menu item that have child menu items.
  3. Click on the parent menu item.
  4. The animation for showing the child menu items and switching the sidenav from slim to full runs at the same time and looks nice.
  5. Click on the parent menu item again.
  6. The animation for hiding the child menu item runs first, then the animation for switching the sidenav from full back to slim runs.

This is annoying - the animation for closing the child menu items and the animation for switching the sidenav menu from full back to slim should run at the same time, exactly how it does when opening it in step 3. Having one animation run after the another does not look good. I want them both to run at the same time.

Here is a snippet showing the issue - just click on the parent menu item and you will see both animations run at the same time. Click on it again, and the animations run one after another. This is annoying.
