It would be nice if the Datepicker could allow changing the order in which a date is picked to year -> month -> day and also allow a partial selection and whether to auto-complete the missing "parts" with the earliest or latest date.

With earliest date, picking the year 2020 would return 2020-01-01 as date, or picking March 2020 would return 2020-03-01 as date.

With latest date, picking the year 2020 would return 2020-12-31, or picking March 2020 would return 2020-03-31.

This would allow for an easy implementation of a UI where the user is supposed to pick a time span for a search query for example ("consider articles posted between __ and __").
